One-day Seminar on “Cyber Security- Future Challenges and Capacity Building on 21-03-2023

Continuing its drive to make the officers aware of the Cyber Crime and to educate the Investigating officers to address the ever-growing issue of Cybercrimes.

On the direction of SSP Kishtwar Sh. Khalil Poswal-JKPS a seminar on the topic “Cyber Security- Future Challenges and Capacity Building” was organised by Kishtwar Police at CRPF 52Bn Hqrs Kishtwar.

On the onset SSP Kishtwar Sh. Khalil Poswal welcomed the audience and threw light on the various challenges and problems investigating agencies face in this world of internet and technology.

The session was inaugurated by  SSP Kishtwar Sh. Khalil Poswal-JKPS who highlighted the role of Cyber Awareness in current scenario and urged the participants to understand the fundamentals of cyber technology in order to stay relevant in the present times. He stressed on the need of understanding the ever-increasing ambit of cyber world and the Cybercrimes. Police officers need to upgrade their knowledge and practical skills to investigate such crime, he added. He briefed the gathering about the Digital evidences, how to Collect/Preserve, Analyse and utilize them for substantiating the offences during investigation of the Cases.  The seminar was attended by the officers of Army, CRPF and officers of District Police Kishtwar

During the Seminar, speakers Mr. Nisheet Dixit, Supreme Court, Lawyer  deliberated upon the topic through the medium of power point presented Topics related to Cyber threats, online frauds, banking frauds, identity theft, social media awareness, investigation of Cybercrimes and uses of Cyber technology in investigation were discussed. The sessions was very interactive and spellbinding. 

Laterin the closing address, Sh. Param Shivan CO. CRPF 52 Bn thanked the speakers for sharing the valuable information on the subject. He requested the officers to act as ambassadors to this agenda by helping in spreading awareness amongst their fellow mates and families, and help them in being less vulnerable and less susceptible to various Cyber Crimes. He also highlighted that J&K Police shall routinely conduct such conferences in future to keep its investigating officers in tune with growing Cyber Crime Challenges.
